Modern museum with exhibitions, shop, café and an open-air museum with houses and environments from the 19th and 20th centuries.

At Murberget you will find stories about Western Norway. The bright stories of progress, but also the darkness about witch burns, poverty and starvation. In the permanent exhibitions you meet people and objects, from the Stone Age until the mid 20th century. The temporary exhibitions resolve each other during the year. Art, carvings, photography and films are varied with exhibitions on social topics.

There's always something going on atMurberget! Music, dance, theater, storytelling, martial arts and many activities for children.

Murberget has its own café in the museum building.

Search easily from photographs, objects and public memorials. The museum is involved in several different projects with external partners. For example, the EU project KulturBro together with Satakunta Museum in Pori, Finland and EuropeanaLocal, a multilingual project aimed at making available Europe's digitized cultural heritage.
